Entertaining kids

All it took to entertain the kids on the past weekend was some cousins, a pond, a creek, some unsuspecting frogs, sunshine and lots of fresh air.

It's sad that more kids in the world are not able to experience what our family has.

It occurred to me as I was sorting through the pictures of the Reunion weekend that we had an extraordinary number of children at it this year. I don't recall seeing a single D S or other electronic or computerized toy.
There wasn't anyone that attended who didn't have a good time.
We have a wonderfull family for which I am eternally gratefull.

Happy Birthday

Mom has turned 90 and doesn't look a day over 70.
She seemed to enjoy having her Brothers come to the Family Reunion this year to help her celebrate.

All 8 of my siblings managed to get home as well.
With the offspring that managed to get here from near and far we had a total of 106 at the celebration and reunion.

Getting ready for company

Time for family reunion and the grass is cut, the horseshoe pits are dug out, everything is as neat and tidy as it's going to get. The sun will shine for the weekend and the people will come. Life is good.

Car show

The Kids came in from camping at Green Lake looking for showers and a visit to the car show. They allowed me to tag along with them so I did.
Birch ave was closed off for the show, the sun was shining Hot dogs and Hamburgers were the lunchtime fare and the local Idols were entertaining the throngs of showgoers.
The cars were really impressive, it's amazing how a sunny day and the opportunity to show off their pride and joy will bring them all out.
Dayton was surprised to see that someone named a tire after him.

Boys n Girls n Ice Cream

A beautiful summer day and wouldn't you know that Dayton likes hanging out with the girls
Logan likes hanging out with his Mother.

We all like Ice Cream and the smallest Boy gets the biggest cone. Dayton's cone is almost as big as he is.

A Frog's life

The thing about being a Frog in a Sheridan Lake campsite is that as soon as school is out the Kids come to the lake and the frogs become fair game to the kids.
Now the process of the frog hunt has to begin with a plan and the one with the brokenest arm should be the planner.
Obviously the plan worked because we have a number of frogs of various sizes.
The next need is to replicate the frog habitat, they must be made comfortable and given names.
At the end of the day the captured frogs are released and the process begins all over again the next day.

It's Summer yay!?!?!?!?!

Tracey was brave enough to drive her and her 3 kids here with their new RV. She did very well and the kids are really happy to be camping again. Deb & Gerry and Logan and Dayton surprised them by camping with them for the first night. The five kids including Sarah with her broken arm spent hours catching bugs and frogs and snails. Life is good.
