There was not a real lot of excitment to report this week. The temperature got into the mid to high 80's every day this week.
Went to seniors day at the Paradise casino to get our free money, Louise got $10. & I got $40. so we we can call ourselves winners. Monday there was an amateur variety show at the clubhouse with some funny spots and some painfull spots but a lot more couragous and entertaining than I could ever think of doing. All in all it was good entertainment and and good fun.
Louise and Laurette have started repacking the Jayco so they won't have to do it when the weather is hot. They go for a couple hours each morning.
Wednesday Louise took her old webcam and with her casino winnings, upgraded to a better camera.
Friday Louise went to get a hair cut.

We left early this morning to the Yuma air show. As always it was an excellent show. As soon as we had found a spot to park our chairs we went to check out the static displays, Craig is always challenged to get more freebies than he did last year. I'm no competi
tion for him as I don't care to stand in the lineups to get them.

The airplanes doing their precision acrobatic shows were really impressive. Fighter planes were equally impressive but harder to catch on camera.

The Marine Marching Band was playing and a display of Marine fighting abilities was impressive as well.

Friday we went to the canadian picnic.
We listened to music of canada.
We were surprised to run into Ken and Sylvia Anderson from home. Visited with them a bit and exchanged addresses so will look them up in the next week or so.
Stopped at cousin Adrien's on the way home. His brother Paul was there visiting and so we stayed for a longer visit than we had planned.

Saturday we stayed close to home.Lots of well wishers for Louise's b'day.I cooked a chicken on a beer can for dinner. Laurette got a chocolate cake for Louise, we have been snacking on cake after every meal. Craig says there no calories in birthday cake so it's o.k. It was very good. Played cards, low key birthday.

Sunday was pretty quiet. We drove to Welton but no one was home, It was a good day for a drive. Ice cream social at 6 o'clock. Free ice cream and cake for the birthday girl, again no calories.

Monday we went to the Paradise casino for seniors day. Had the 99 cent breakfast and played our free slot machine money, took our winnings and went shopping.

Louise is 60 years old today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOUISE!!!!!!

She looks younger each birthday.

We had cousin Adrian and Jeanine for dinner yesterday, We haven't seen much of them this winter so it was good to catch up.
Another sunny day in Yuma today 47 this morning and promises to get to the high 70's and no wind. We'll be in shorts before noon.
Laurette came with a chocolate birthday cake, but no calories on Louise's birthday. We cooked a chicken on a beer can for dinner and then more cake. Had lots of calls on my birthday, All Tracey & Rudy's kids sang me Happy Birthday. Very cute. Can't believe I'm 60, probably take a few days to sink in. All in all a very nice day.

Valentines Day
Cloudy today temp 61, windy, not real pleasant outside.
My Valentine took me to a chick flick called 'Atonement' .It was a little slow for me but I managed to stay awake through the entire movie. She is now a happy valentine girl which is ultimately good for me.
Pretty slow day today today as was yesterday so nothing exciting to write about.

We spent this day catching up on laundry and housework as there must have been some wind while we were gone and it got sand and dust everywhere. Oh well that's life in Yuma.

Just after going to bed last night, an earthquake struck and shook the place a bit, Louise thought I was jumping around in bed and I thought she was dancing around the living room. It's the first time I have felt an earthquake.

Did seniors day at the casino yesterday and came home with $10.00 more than I went with so I guess I'm a winner.

We have had some fairly cool weather but now the heat is back (84 F ) and our fellow snowbirds are back outside enjoying the good life.

Week of fun

We are home from a cruise to Cabo San Lucas. Louise is so happy she didn't get seasick. The food onboard was so good we were forced to overeat and put back a few pounds that we worked so hard to take off. The trip to San Diego was good, as it was a beutiful sunny day. We had time to tour Little Italy before boarding the ship.

We left the car at the park n fly and took a shuttle to the ship. After confiscating my liquor they allowed us to board. I found the onboard experience a little bit not what I like to do but overall it was good.

The shows were very well done and well worth seeing. The dinner seating was a little late for our liking and they refused to give us an earlier seating. I understand their dilemma but we did book a year ago and others who booked only three months ago got to eat at six. The service by Kenneth, our waiter, was excellent.

Cabo San Lucas is definitely Mexico. However the prices are tourist trap prices if ever there were any. It was sure nice to see the ocean, flowers and trees. Even seeing the seagulls and pelicans was very nice. The weather was perfect, not to hot and very comfortable. Didn't have a lot of time but enjoyed what we did.

Las Vegas was a fun place. We especially enjoyed Fremont Street with it's light show. The bus service called the Deuce is the best deal as it's $5 for 24 hours of bus service on the strip. So much walking, my feet and legs hurt so much it made me forget about my sore back.

Re; our travel plans.

We have ourselves packed and a preload done on the car. Craig insisted we would need a roof rack but the women proved him wrong even though it will be crowded. The weather clouded over, the wind has come up and it is threatening rain.

Learning to be a blogger is challenging for my limited mental capacity, but I will keep trying.

Louise got on the webcam and sang happy birthday to Logan ( poor kid!). He enjoyed seeing his grandma singing to him on the computer.

This is an experiment to see if I can set up and commit to blogging.
We are packing this day to leave on a cruise out of San Diego to Cabo San Lucas tomorrow morning for 4 nights and then to Las Vegas for the rest of the week.
Weather in Yuma today is partly cloudy, early morning temperature of 46.
Louise and I did a morning walk, good company and good weather, life is great.
