Packing for the trip home seems to be a busy time. If we didn't have a trailer to go home with I don't think we could fit it all in. Maybe we will bring less next year ( or get a roof rack ).

This will be my last post until we are home. The computer will soon be disconnected!

We have been eating diligently trying to eat all the food to no avail. We will have to start all over in our attempt to lose weight when we get home. The girls have been trying to consolidate stuff to fit it all in. Three fridges don't fit well into one smaller fridge. Oh well!?!?!?

Tuesday we went for happy hour to Adrian & Janine as they are on their way home at the same time we go. Their new park model is a really nice home. We didn't see them as much this winter as we would have liked. We will try to do better next winter. As always they were wonderfull hosts.

We are into our last week here and now are trying to eat as much of the food up as we can. After overeating on Sunday we cooked a turkey on monday and will have to try to eat it as well. Craig has become an excellent turkey carver.

Very Hot here on our last week as well. We have lots to do and not much energy to do it. Oh well it's suppose to cool down a few degress on Thrusday so that should help.

Easter Sunday meal at the clubhouse was as usual a veritable feast. The Ham was supplied by the Park. The potluck dishes were supplied by the people who live here and I didn't see any duplicates so was hard pressed to have a little try from each dish. As always I ate my fair share and maybe a little more.

Another quiet week in the trailer park.

We all did our casino run and all were ahead with amounts varying from $10 to $40 dollars. Louise left at 5 a.m. tuesday for Vegas to spend a couple days with Karen.

I was well looked after by Craig & Laurette while she was gone. Happy hours to say goodbye to all the people leaving are almost a daily occurance now. At the rate the snowbirds are leaving the place will be empty by the end of the month. Tenperatures are getting into the high eighties every day now, but looking at the weather in B.C., I think we better wait a bit more.

Louise and Karen arrived back here Thursday at around 4:00 p.m. after stopping to shop in Laughlin. It was good to see her again.
Friday morning they caught up on laundry and went grocery shopping.

We spent the day getting the trailer ready to leave for the summer.
Jeanette phoned to let us know she was going to be a Grandma again today. She phoned later to let us know the baby was a 7lb 7oz girl and all is well.
Jeanette wanted to know how long we are staying when we go there. Craig says we are staying until she bakes him a pie.
The people in the park are all busy getting things packed to go home. The cooler weather today has given all of us a spurt of energy.
Steak for dinner.

This week has been busy getting ready to go home. People are already starting to leave.
Louise and Laurette have been to the Jayco, that is in storage, 2 or 3 times, getting it organized for the trip home. We will bring it here a week before we go to pack the last of our stuff in it.
Thursday was the park going away party. We played games and ate chicken and potatoe salad at the park's expense and said goodbye to lots of people.
Friday we renewed the licence on our trailer, Paid the power bill and arranged to have it shut off on the 31st of the month. Stopped for a short visit with Joan and Toby on our way home. They are leaving on thursday, mar. 20, so we will try to see them some time over the weekend.

I post this picture because of the overwhelming number of requests to do so by readers of the blog.
I didn't realize Mario Andretti was so popular.
This my attempt at uploading video clips. It is part of the old car parade, if it works I'll have to learn to edit some video off my camera and use the the video feature more.

We went to the car show this morning and walked and admired old cars until our feet hurt and our bodies were tired. I felt like joining the old guy on the back of his truck for a drink.
Some cars were there last year but there are so many that you can't see them all in one day anyway. About 900 cars, not as many as last year but too many to admire all in 1 day.
I think Craig tried to take pictures of all of them, I wasn't that dedicated.
Mario Andretti was in a booth signing pictures so I had him sign one for me. The Cocopah Indian band was there with one of their slot machines and giving out free spins so I tried that and won a T-Shirt.
When we got home we were pretty proud of ourselves for putting a corned beef in the slow cooker before we left, all we need do is boil some cabbage and we have a corned beef & cabbage dinner ( first one this year ), and I realllly enjoy it.

We went to the " Midnight at the Oasis " parade yesterday. We of course went early and got a good roadside seat for the parade. It took awhile as there were hundreds of cars and trucks of every vintage, driven by old people reliving their youth.
A lot of people were smarter than us as they brought food and drinks, I even saw a family set up a barbeque and cook their hamburgers. We will be smarter next year.
There were even some fighter jets that did a fly over a few times at the start and Mario Andretti was leading the parade and will be signing autographs during the show today. All in all a very impressive show.

Monday we did seniors day at the Paradise Casino. All came away winners except me, I think I'm jinxed, I have quit the Cocopah Casino and will have to do the same for Paradise, Just to teach them a lesson. I'll sure show them, they'l be sorry!!!!!!!
Tuesday Joan & Toby Ericson and Ken And Sylvia Anderson came for a visit today, it was good to see them and we enjoyed catching up on old times.
Tracey and her brood phoned and wanted to see us on the computer so we talked to them through the webcam. they are too funny.

Thank you Heather for the positive feedback on the blog. I appreciate your concern about us not getting enough pictures of food so I took this one yesterday when we were at Dale and Andrea's for dinner. Dinner was excellent as always and then we played cards (joker ).

The desert in bloom can be more colorfull some years than others, this year seems to be one of the most colorfull one's I have seen. This picture was taken yesterday ( Mar. 1st ) just behind our trailer park. Mostly Verbena with some Desert Lillies mixed in with them. I will have to take a drive and see what other colors I can find.
